You are expecting a child in a few months, so what better way to begin preparation for their arrival than setting up the nursery? Many new parents feel overwhelmed by this effort. If you stay organized and prioritize, this can be a very pleasant experience. You may also find it easier to complete a baby registration form at your favorite children’s store as a way to keep organized about what you need and what is left to buy.

Once the necessities are out of the way, here comes the fun part – choosing the style of furnishings and theme for the room
When choosing your nursery furniture, consider pieces that will grow with your child. There are several brands of cribs turning into toddler beds and twin beds these days. You can also find changing tables turning into bookshelves. The keys are longevity, durability and affordability. Choose types of wood or colors easily matched with the metamorphosis the room will go through over the years.
When choosing the theme for the room, keep in mind with will be your child’s sanctuary. The colors of the walls, accents and crib outfit should tie in together. You want to nurture your child’s developing senses, imagination and feelings. Consider placing your focus on colors and tones rather than characters and prints. Remember that longevity applies to the look of the room too! Characters and prints can be added with toys and bedding, instead. You may also want to consider the use of the Ancient Chinese practice Feng Shui in your decorating efforts to add balance and serenity.
